Introducing The McRib

The McRib has arrived in Philippine shores and I was one of the lucky few to hear all about it first, and eat it too! I, along with other bloggers and media folks, were invited to McDonald’s Eton Centris for the press con for the unveiling of the new product McDonald’s wants us to experience. The place was decked out in awesome decorations and props that suggested a barbecue themed gathering, but never in our minds did we think they were introducing the McRib! We got to taste the McRib, enjoyed it with McDonald’s World Famous Fries, and engaged in great conversations while Birdforms played music for us in the background. It really felt like we were at a barbecue! I’d say McDonald’s and their team did a great job keeping us guessing and excited, and it was definitely worth the wait.

Here’s a fact you might not already know about me: I’M ALL ABOUT BARBECUE FLAVORS. I love it on my chips, my chicken nuggets, and the marinade for my choice of meat/seafood. You can present me any dish that has anything to do with the barbecue flavor and I’m totally there. I love it sweet and smoky, and I want lots of it! I know you, my fellow Filipinos, love it like that too ;)The McRib is a rib-shaped pork patty dipped in delicious, sweet, tangy, and smoky barbecue sauce, topped with pickle slices and slivered onions (my favorite), sandwiched between two warm caramelized buns. Just typing that down made me salivate a little, and it’s no wonder the McRib is a well-loved and highly-anticipated product in other countries. Luckily for us we no longer have to wait, and you can get a taste at your nearest McDonald’s at an a la carte price of only Php 99!
For those who love their veggies in their sandwiches (that would be me), you can also enjoy the new McRib Deluxe. Made with the same tender pork patty, tasty barbecue sauce, and soft buns, the McRib Deluxe replaces the pickles and onions with crisp lettuce and creamy mayonnaise at an a la carte price of Php 119.

Finally being available nationwide means it’s easier to satisfy our barbecue cravings through the McRib– but here’s the catch: IT’S AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY! Yes, unfortunately, much like the McDonald’s Twister Fries, this is a menu item that will make an appearance at a limited time so you better hurry and satisfy your #McRibCraving today and enjoy a delicious meal that’s dripping with flavor with family or friends!

Wasn’t this made available in the PH a few months ago? Though I guess that was just a test run on selected branches. I remember eating this one in Glorietta. Hehehe.

Yup! They tested it without announcing and it seemed to be successful so they decided to officially launch it as a promo/comeback type menu item :)
