No Makeup Makeup Look + My New Real Techniques Brushes

Processed with VSCOcam with a8 preset
I’m so excited to announce a collaboration I’m doing with Kalm Cosmetics, the official distributor in the Philippines for Real Techniques & EcoTools brushes and other makeup tools! I approached them a week ago to see if they were interested in a partnership, and they were more than happy to collaborate with Wild Spirit. YAY! I took the liberty to do a new makeup video showing you how I do my “no makeup makeup” look, because a bunch of you are always asking me how I achieve the look, and for this I’ll be using using my Real Techniques Core Collection Set + Starter set to achieve it.

I hope you enjoy this video, and if you have any makeup look requests, I’m always open to suggestions :)

Makeup used for this look:

1. MAC Mineralize Foundation (NC20) + RT Buffing Brush
2. Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer  (Ivory) + RT Foundation Brush
3. Estee Lauder Enchanted Forest Eyeshadow + RT Eyeshadow Base Brush
4. Naked Palette Buck Eyeshadow + RT Eyeshadow Base Brush + Crease Brush
5. Beauty UK Eyebrow kit + RT Brow Brush
6. Contour + Highlight kit (Romwe) + RT Contouring Brush

Ermahgerd Real Techniques!! Also, I’m super duper scared of tightlining my eyes. I feel like I’m going to poke my eyes and go blind LOL.

Tight lining definitely takes a lot of practice. Do it slowly kasi. Can you believe I learned this from my mom who does her makeup while driving??? EVEN TIGHT LINING. Bitch be cray

You know that weird feeling when you hear someone’s voice for the first time after reading about her/him from the internet world? I got that feeling watching the video ha! Brilliant tho, lovely make up, the kind I like :) x

    • Reply Camie Juan 4 October 2014 at 11:59 pm

Oh! Yes I know that feeling, it’s almost always usually a weird feeling! HAHA I have yet to hear your voice :P

You are so pretty (and I so freakin love your hair!). I love RT brushes, they are so worth every peso. I have the core collection and the blush brush (pink). :D

Thanks Kenny <3 You're so sweet! I totally forgot about the blush brush but my contour brush works ok for blush naman so I dont think I'll get one muna! Haha

I want to learn how to do a simple full on make up but highlighting and contouring looks so complicated. I also just learned now that there’s this thing called tightlining too? Haha Hopefully, I can get the right tools, get back to this video and start experimenting.

    • Reply Camie Juan 5 October 2014 at 10:43 pm

Good luck! :) Highlighting and contouring also took me a while to get a hang of! But it’s actually pretty easy and there are different methods to highlight, not just with powder but using a liquid highlighter too! :) If you really wanna start learning, youtube is definitely the best way! :)

I’ve never heard of tighlining until now! Not much of a make-up person but this tutorial might get the ball rolling for me. Thanks for this!

I actually learned about tight lining through my mom when I was really young, probably age 14? I would see her doing it in the car WHILE DRIVING. hahahaah

I can just listen to you all day! haha. Btw I really love this look and your eyes are so pretty! I love to tightline as well cos what you said, it makes my eyelashes look fuller but maybe cos I really don’t know how to apply winged eyeliner or eyeliner on the lids in general. Thanks for the tips! x

    • Reply Camie Juan 5 October 2014 at 10:40 pm

Thanks Alissa <3 Winged eyeliner can be such a hassle. I still have a hard time getting them to look the same/same angle on both sides! One will always be more angled than the other... So it always looks funny. HAHA

Just realized that this is the second time heard your voice (the first one was when you made that video of you speaking common french phrases) and I really love the way you speak. The brushes seems like a good tool for make up application, esp the one for the eyebrow! I’m still using pencils + some blending and I want to try filling my eyebrows using brushes, too. Thanks for the video!

    • Reply Camie Juan 5 October 2014 at 10:39 pm

Oh my gosh, the angled brush of Real Techniques is just amazing. At first I thought it would be hard to use cause the brush is actually thicker than the brush I used to use for my browns but holy crap I was so wrong. I can do my eyebrows in half the time I used to spend time doing them!!! I dont know if you can buy the brush individually (Im guessing you can), so I def recommend it! :)

It’s cool to finally hear you speak in a video! I love your “natural” look and think you pulled it off really well!

    • Reply Camie Juan 5 October 2014 at 10:37 pm

Thanks so much Cindy! <3 I'm glad I'm getting lots of positive responses for it :)

Love those brushes! I’ve been using my fingers when I’m applying makeup even if I have some brushes because I just get lazy :( But watching your videos rekindled my love for them.

Also, gotta agree with tight lining, makes it look more natural and extra pretty.

    • Reply Camie Juan 5 October 2014 at 10:37 pm

Thanks for stopping by, Chel! You should get RT brushes too, makeup application is just so much easier using it! Cuts my makeup application time in half. Literally!

I will! I’ve been hearing about RT for quite some time now plus from this Aussie Youtuber (Lauren Curtis – you might like her). I’m torn between the duo-fiber or the core collection :((

Is it because it’s a no-makeup makeup that I barely saw any difference between the before and after makeup? Hehe. Well, except for the eyebrows and eyeshadow, I think. They’re noticeable. :) But still, it’s a good no-makeup makeup look, not really eye-catching. I don’t really like it when people have to notice that I wear makeup. So I am trying this one. I might not put eyeshadow. Hehe.

Questions though, on the first part of the video you said you use your fingers for the concealer but when you’re doing your makeup you used a brush. Is there any effect if you used finger or brush? Also, can you give tips on how to chose the correct color for concealer? Whenever i try to put concealer, my undercircles appear to look grayish/whitish. Is it because I didn’t blend it well? Or I used the wrong color?

Also, I noticed you didn’t put any lipstick or at least lip balm. You focused more on the eyes. Maybe I can just not wear eyeshadow and wear lip balm instead?

I hope you can answer my questions and give me more tips! Thanks :)

Thanks! Actually, I find it a huge compliment that people can’t tell I’m wearing makeup. To me, the point is I know I’m wearing makeup and it makes me feel good and confident, plus it also makes me look presentable. So if people think I’m not wearing makeup, it’s such a good thing! I can trick them into thinking I just look good effortlessly. HAHA

I used the foundation brush to do my concealer for the purpose of showing how versatile and useful Real Techniques brushes are! I actually find blending with my fingers (clean!) to be more effective because you aren’t left with streaks, which is what sometimes flat makeup brushes can do. As for concealer, always pick a color one shade lighter than your current skin tone. It might be because you’re using the wrong color! I used to just buy any light colored concealer, when I found out it it really matters what shade you get! I suggest learning your skin color + undertones + color theory on which colors in makeup cancels out the colors on your face (redness, purpleish under eyes, etc). For example, I’m a Neutral with warm undertones, my undereye circles can get a little purple-ish, so my concealer needs to be yellow based to cancel out my purple circles! I’ve done a lot of trial and error, and I’m sure after makeup school I’ll learn more and realize I’ve been doing a lot of wrong things! HAHA Makeup can get a little confusing, sometimes it’s hard for me to even tell what someone’s skin tone + undertones are!

I always focus on my eyes, because it’s my favorite facial feature. But of course you can skip the eyeshadow and just wear balm instead! It’s definitely up to you how you want to do the no makeup makeup look! :)
