{23 Things} I learned about myself & life by the age of 23
There is always something huge that will happen to you when you hit your 20’s that will push you to change for the better and grow up. In my case it was the break up of my 3 year relationship with an emotionally abusive guy.
It definitely makes sense to leave home for college, just so you can learn managing things on your own for a bit.
Stop impulsive buying on things you only want but not need. “I need to lose weight anyway” is not a valid justification to use dinner money for something else.
McDonald’s is NOT okay as any type of meal, especially not consecutive days in a row.
Your blog will serve as a form of malicious entertainment for some people, filter it!
I hate to admit it sometimes, but parents are almost always right.
It’s okay to take a day off for yourself to take a breather, even if your work is pilling up. Just know that when you continue on again, your work will be twice as much (which sucks).
Cramming isn’t always an okay way to approach priorities!
Cussing doesn’t make you less ladylike. This is the 21st century, not a Jane Austen book.
Snoozing doesn’t always work. Set 5 alarms if you have a hard time waking up in the morning.
There will always be people who are only in it to use you and abuse you, cut them out and let karma do the rest. She’s the bitchiest of all bitches, apparently. I love her.
Friendship isn’t completely based on constant communication, it lasts in how you built the foundation of friendship in the first place.
You CAN fall in love with your best friend and have it be the best relationship ever.
It’s okay to not know what to do after you graduate college.
Things can suck today, but tomorrow will always be a different story, if you choose it to be.
If you don’t ask, the answer will always be no.
Crying and laughing cleanses the soul. But not simultaneously, that just means you’re crazy.
There’s no use comparing yourself to others, their path is different from yours.
Focus on things that make you happy, it’s a good exercise for your overall well-being.
Learn to love your natural hair, some people would kill to have it
It’s okay to screw up, it’s how you deal with it that matters.
Try everything at least once in your life. That way you’ll know you lived your life (so far) to the fullest.
Turning 23 doesn’t make you old, it just means you’re a year older and a lot more wiser than the ones who do call you “old”… Also, it means a lot more closer to being “free” from your parents… Which also means The Real World (which sucks, but I’m sure I’m gonna love it!)
