A few weeks ago I wrote an initial review for Safeguard’s new line of anti-acne products called Derma Sense. Safeguard Derma Sense is available in two variants, for acne prone skin and for sensitive skin. Derma Sense is dermatologically tested to reduce mild to moderate acne by cleaning not just the skin’s surface but neutralising acne-causing germs deep down in the pores, which helps in giving you healthy, beautiful skin.
This summer, I’ve been breaking out more than usual with a pimple here and there in random places on my face so I’ve taken it upon myself to use both Derma Sense variants (Derma Sense for Acne Prone Skin and Derma Sense for Sensitive Skin). I would use the Derma Sense for Sensitive Skin on days I’m just at home and the Derma Sense for Acne Prone Skin for days I’m wearing makeup and have spent a certain amount of time outside. Derma Sense isn’t drying on the skin, but leaves my skin always feeling so fresh and clean. And of course after using the cleansers, I always follow up with moisturiser to help give back the moisture from my skin that is usually stripped away by any facial cleanser.
Throughout the duration of using Derma Sense, I allowed myself a few days off from using the products just to see how my skin would react. I wanted to test if the products really worked or not. This morning as I was doing my makeup, I noticed two tiny pimples growing on my cheek, an area I’ve never broken out on before! I was both surprised and expectant, to say the least. I already knew the products were working when I started using it for more than a week and I stopped breaking out, but to get further confirmation when I got a pimple after I stopped using the products were proof that as an acne preventative, Derma Sense does its job pretty darn well!
My final verdict for this product is that it’s very well worth trying for people with acne problems, but if not, it’s still a great mild cleanser to use for acne prevention. I’ve given my extra Safeguard Derma Sense products to Gab for him to use as well since he’s also prone to a pimple or two from time to time. I’m so glad I finally found a mild cleanser that actually does what it claims and works on my skin!
