The Sunday Currently: Vol. 12

sunday currently - may 24

R E A D I N G

I haven’t read in a few weeks, on my last Sunday Currently, I was actually reading Lonely Planet’s Travel Writing Guidebook. I should probably continue.

W R I T I N G
I created a file where I’ve listed down finished and unfinished projects for work, because with the freelance life, you never get paid on time so it’s easy to forget certain clients who owe you.

L I S T E N I N G
Frank Ocean’s channel ORANGE album. I’m not very keen on R&B, but I love this album.

T H I N K I N G
I have so much shit that I could probably do without but I don’t know how to dispose of them properly. Some I’ve given away, some I can sell, some I can donate, but there are bits and pieces here that just don’t fit into those three categories.

S M E L L I N G
Forest Rain scented candle, the same candle in the photo above. I forgot where I got it, but it’s locally made, so that’s nice!

W I S H I N G
I get paid on time so I can stop feeling so broke all the damn time, also wishing my Sims 4 will install properly so I can play.

H O P I N G
The rainy seasons comes earlier because I’m done with this 7th layer of hell weather.

W E A R I N G
White shorts, a gray camisole and my eyeglasses.

L O V I N G
My new MacBook. Im obsessed with it. I’ve spent days downloading useful apps. I’m also really loving my new gold case, which just screams C L A S S — I’m just torn because I also want something marbled.

W A N T I N G
Adobong pusit. If I want it bad enough, I’ll probably step out and buy squid at the supermarket.

N E E D I N G
I can’t think of anything I absolutely need right now except maybe clients who will respect you enough to pay on time when you deliver your work on time but HA HA HA that has ever only happened once and they’re a client I will cherish forever.

F E E L I N G
Happy. Things could be a little better, but those things are just little things compared to the big picture.

7 Activities Super Successful People Do During The Weekend
Which Skincare Routine is Right for You

It’s freaking me out how fast time is going, mostly because I can feel October coming closer and closer and I don’t feel ready at all for the Eurotrip I’ve been planning since January of this year. Which leads me back to the constant complaining in this post about getting paid on time. In theory,  I have enough to fund my trip, in reality I can’t get started on booking things because clients either don’t pay on time or payout dates are 3-5 months after the project which is just CRAZY. But, that is the downside of the freelance life I have chosen to enter so I just gotta grin and bear it.

Happy Sunday, you guys! I hope everyone had an awesome week. I went home for the weekend to spend some time with family and play around with my new laptop. If you’ve got more recommendations for me regarding useful/cool apps to download, please let me know <3

Hi, Camie! How did you decide you wanted Pro? I’m torn between Air and Pro and I’m on college. I want something light but I heard Pro is A+ for productivity… and btw, loved that marble case on your tablet. If ever I’d buy one I want something like that, you know where I could get one? Thanks!

I hope it would rain too. But I feel that when it starts we will start complaining about it. :)

Hahaha! Oh, I’m sure. We humans love to complain, me included. LOL

Your flatlays are always so on point! Congrats on your new purchase with your own hard earned money! I used to have the Macbook Air but I had to give it to my Mom because her Macbook broke, and since I’m in college, I decided to get a Windows laptop especially considering that I’m taking accountings and some accounting softwares don’t work on Mac :)

Oh gosh I have a friend who did some designs for a (very) big company and he had the hardest time getting paid. They wouldn’t answer his follow up emails so he had to go all the way to their office (which is very far from where he lives and works) so many times because they’d always say that his check wasn’t ready yet or something. I think he finally got paid though, but it was so much hassle -_-

everything you wrote make me interest. and a part you said that you don’t get paid on time make my mind open that being a blogger is not all advantageous (as many people imagine)

I bought the same marble vinyl sticker that you have and I’m tempted to do a DIY sticker for my Macbook (so many tutorials online) but I am S C A R E D because Macbooks are precious baby things.

They come off easily! Where did you find here? :)

Ace Hardware! I also found white textured wood pattern at Galleria Handyman. :)

Oh how lucky! I couldn’t find any marble textures. I’ll try looking again when I run out. Thanks for letting me know :)

Hi, Camie! I’ve been going through my stuff these past few days as I’m decluttering. Some of my stuff I haven’t touched in years while some I can’t let go of because of sentimental value. I’m holding on to so much stuff I probably won’t use in the next five years.

So far, I’ve got a backpack full of books, electronics (e.g. USB fan), earrings I bought on impulse but never worn, a bag of clothes, etc. I’m thinking of donating, selling, swapping them, too. I suggest that if an item doesn’t fit any of those categories, try posting them online (for a price or even for free) and see if there are any takers. You never know… Someone might find those stuff useful. Better than stashing them in the garbage bin. Have a nice day! :)

Hi Camille :) I actually am preparing an online shop to place all the stuff I can sell. I’m not throwing anything away unless extremely broken, or if I can give them away to someone I know in real life then I do :) don’t worry, I’ve been doing this for a while! Haha

3-5 months after??? That’s crazy! Are there no other ways to get the payment earlier?
